About
The Hangry Italian
Food, travel, photography, and film. Different places, experienced well.
The Hangry Italian began as a way of keeping track of the places that stayed with me.
A restaurant worth crossing town for. A hotel I'd return to. A neighborhood I wanted another afternoon in. Sometimes that means Michelin stars and grand hotels. Sometimes it's a table down a side street with no reason to be famous.
Over time, those notes became stories — told through food, travel, photography, and film.
The idea is still the same: different places, experienced well.
How THI works
Show, don't tell
The food, the room, the light at 7pm — the details do the work. Adjectives are a last resort.
Michelin is a starting point, not the destination
Three stars and a family trattoria with no sign on the door can both be worth the trip. The question is always whether it's worth yours.
Context matters more than price
THI covers the full range — from a simple lunch that changes your afternoon to a luxury stay that justifies the splurge. Context matters more than price.
